Conservation Project Funding Update

Salton Sea Conservation Coalition continues to pursue two conservation priorities: rehabilitation of the HQ Ponds at Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge and dune habitat protection at Coachella Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

Both projects are awaiting funding. We remain committed to developing them with appropriate refuge coordination and are seeking the resources needed to move from planning to implementation.

This update replaces the earlier March 2026 preliminary grant notice. The earlier application-review and public-comment instructions are no longer current.

Our present outreach includes educational posts and reels about the Salton Sea region, wildlife, and habitat protection. Future project milestones and participation opportunities will be shared as plans and funding develop.
